My husband just asked me to show him what I had been working on. I showed him this:

and he asked what inspired it.

I’ve always seen things in strange places.  I’ve seen characters and funny things in wallpaper, popcorn ceilings, marble tile… I don’t know if it’s a sign of artistic genius or insanity, but I’ll go with the former. When I visited my grandparents’ house in Ohio for Christmas this year, I was reminded of the leg I always find in the wood paneling in their downstairs bathroom. Seriously, the grain in the wood looks like a woman’s leg pointed down, like she’s dipping her toe in water. So I decided to create the whole picture with a girl swinging her feet into the water.

It’s a good exercise. I should do this more often. And please tell me I’m not crazy. 🙂
